Discovery Logic's experienced management team applies its knowledge, experience, and vision to ensure that each project succeeds.
Dr. Naomi Pollard is an entrepreneur experienced in high-growth software ventures and in the life sciences. She is a highly regarded leader in the fields of health information technology and organization development. Before founding Discovery Logic, Dr. Pollard served as President of Science Management Corporation, Director of Operations at thinkXML, and practiced pediatric clinical psychology. She received a B.A. in History from Bryn Mawr College; an M.A. in Psychology from American University, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from The George Washington University.
Mr. Lampert is responsible for operations, strategic direction and corporate planning for Discovery Logic. He serves on the Management Committee and is a Member of the Board of Directors. Prior to joining Discovery Logic, Mr. Lampert served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Aspen Systems Corporation, a large information management company with more than 1,700 employees with $160 million in annual sales. Aspen Systems was acquired by Lockheed Martin in 2006. Mr. Lampert received a B.S. in accounting from Northeastern University and an M.B.A. from Boston University.
Mr. Pollard is a leader in the fields of XML, business intelligence, and knowledge management. At Discovery Logic, Mr. Pollard provides leading-edge technology vision and business and strategic leadership. He founded, raised venture capital, and served as Chief Executive Officer and Chair of thinkXML, Inc. (sold to Zions Bancorp in 2001). Earlier, he served as Vice President of Science Management Corporation. Previous posts included Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and the United States Senate. Mr. Pollard earned his B.A. in Economics from Brandeis University.
Mr. Probus leads Discovery Logic’s technology policy, solutions and services and is responsible for identifying and implementing innovative software solutions for information fusion. Prior to joining Discovery Logic, Mr. Probus served as President of Enlitex, Chief Technology Officer of Fourwinds Technology, and as Chief Information Officer for Thomson Financial's Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS). Mr. Probus also served as a software development manager at SAIC and as the second employee of a company that later changed its name to MapQuest. He earned his B.S. in Computer Science from Virginia Tech.
Mr. Young is a highly regarded senior engineer, architect, and developer. At Discovery Logic he manages all R&D efforts and brings best practices to support development of Web applications, software systems, and databases. Before joining Discovery Logic, Mr. Young served as Chief Technology Officer of Enlitex; Chief Architect of Fourwinds Technology; Chief Architect of Ultraprise; and as Senior Vice President of Engineering at Thomson Financial. Early in his career, Mr. Young was the third employee at a start-up now called MapQuest. He earned his B.S. in Computer Science from Virginia Tech.
Dr. Haak is an expert in science and technology policy,
management and implementation. At Discovery Logic, Dr. Haak provides
leading-edge scientific and technical vision and leads delivery of
information technology solutions and services for the scientific
community. Before joining Discovery Logic, Dr. Haak was a program
officer for the Committee on Science, Engineering, and Public Policy
at the National Academies. Priot to this, she served as editor of
Science's Next Wave Postdoc Network at the American Association for
the Advancement of Science and completed her postdoctoral research
at the National Institutes of Health.. Dr. Haak received a BS and an
MS in biology from Stanford University and a PhD in neuroscience
from Stanford University Medical School.
Dr. Haak has served as president of Women in Neuroscience, co-chair of the Society for Neuroscience Committee on Women in Neuroscience, and on the Biophysics Society Early Careers Committee. In 2006, she was awarded the National Postdoctoral Association's Distinguished Service Award and currently serves on their Advisory Board.
Mr. Yuang has an extensive background in software engineering, IT architecture, and project management. At Discovery Logic, he leads a team of software engineers to develop Web applications, financial systems, and databases. Before joining Discovery Logic, Mr. Yuang served as Director of Enterprise Systems at Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), supporting the development of communication systems as well as Oracle Financials. He was also involved in the conversion of digital television broadcasting. Mr. Yuang received his M.S. in Computer Science from University of Houston.
